Is Workplace Stress Necessary?
One of the most difficult forms of stress to avoid is workplace stress. You have to go to work and once there you run across many stressing situations. But stress is not totally necessary. As with other forms of stress, there are ways to manage the stress found in the workplace. And if you cannot avoid it, then try to manage it.
Workplace stress is often manifested by everything needing to be completed today. As an example, your boss has already given you dozens of things to do, each with equal importance. Of course, there isn’t enough time to do all of them justice. And in addition, your boss comes and asks about a report or project completed sometime ago and when you get that, here is more work to do. It appears never ending but it is manageable.
Begin to manage the stress by focusing on one task at a time. If you attempt to multi-task you will not be successful as it causes you to constantly change your focus. This takes time and makes extra demands on your brain as you change your thoughts from one task to another and back. Maintaining your focus on a single project helps to keep your thoughts and energy concentrated instead of being scattered by multiple projects
One of the biggest distractions is your coworkers. Someone is invariably asking for your opinion or time to help them with their projects. If possible, fend off these time wasters to prevent loss of focus. Learning to say “no” can prevent distractions. “No” can be highly effective though it may be better to say “No, not right now”, or “After I am done with this”. This may give you time to complete what you are doing. And by the time you finish, the coworker may have found a solution of their own, but if not, then you can easily help them.
Sometimes your concentration just runs out causing all types of difficulties. You find yourself reading that paragraph for the tenth time and still don’t know what it meant, or you have been staring at the computer screen for who know how long and still don’t know what it means. Your brain is shutting down and you are becoming ineffective yet the deadline looms. Now is the time to distract yourself by getting up to get a drink, go to the restroom or take a short walk around the building, anything to get your mind off the task for a minute or so. When you return to the project you will be more effective and have lowered the stress level.
There are various exercises you can do while at your desk to help in reducing stress. Get a little stress ball and squeeze it regularly and do some stretching exercises while at your desk. When you work your muscles it helps maintain circulation and keeps you alert and aware. You won’t manage a full body workout sitting at your desk, but any amount of exercise will help to keep you focused.
Lastly, examine your work environment to make sure it is comfortable for you. Is it too noisy? Is your desk the proper height? Are you comfortable? Is everything ergonomically correct? If you want to work without undue distraction you need to be comfortable to prevent more stress. Therefore, your work space needs to be set up just right for you. If you address the little things in your work space you will be able to work more consistently and confidently.
Stress in the workplace is a part of working. But, with proper management, it is possible to minimize it. When you do that work becomes more pleasant and you end up being more productive. Take care of yourself and the area around you first and the stress will not control you.

Paintball Tanks and the Differences
Ever since the paintball was introduced to the world, it quickly became very popular among weekend warriors who want to experience the thrill and excitement of firefights. It is a fun game to play and you will definitely experience adrenaline rush while playing the game.

Basically, you have to remember that liquid CO2 requires heat energy when it expands. Eventually, this will have a counter effect on the tank, which will grow very cold and for long usages, it will form ice crystals inside.
Another downside is that CO2 tanks have a tendency to leak because of erosion on the O-rings and on the seals. But, with proper maintenance and care, you will be able to prevent it from leaking. You also need to remember that CO2 tanks shouldn’t be exposed to sunlight for too long as there is always the risk of gas expanding inside the tank which can be quite unsafe for the people carrying it.
The second type of tank used in paintball guns is the high pressure air and nitrogen paintball tanks. Basically, these tanks function in a different manger than carbon dioxide tanks as it doesn’t have to expand from liquid to gas to provide the propellant effect. High pressure air and nitrogen will already be in its gaseous state. Because of this, it will be able to provide a much more reliable gun, more accuracy and velocity. Although these tanks will also grow colder when used, it will not have the icing effect that the CO2 usually has when used in long term.
The only downside is that high pressure air and nitrogen tanks are larger, bulkier and a lot heavier. Although there are smaller tanks that you can carry around, each tank will not last out on a long game.
Nitrogen and high pressure air paintball tanks may be a lot more expensive to purchase, but refilling them is much cheaper than refilling CO2 tanks. Because of this, nitrogen and high pressure air paintball tanks are much more popular than CO2 tanks.

Training For Slalom Water Skiing, Hollywood Style
How many of you saw the water skiing video of Rachel Ray on the internet? I know most people watched just to get a glimpse of her in a bikini, but I started thinking about how she was learning to ski in the first place. I thought slalom water skiing was just something daredevils in the 1970s did. Whoever was instructing Rachel Ray, however, had sure made it seem fun and almost effortless.
I tried water skiing only a few times and honestly it was mainly peer pressure (“Come on, you never get a chance to try this”) and even though I got up on the skis and they took me around a bit, it was a bit too daunting to want to try again.
When that water gets rushing fast underneath you, and they (the family and friends) decide to up the throttle on the boat, and you’re hanging on, hunched over, that can be pretty nerve racking. I never got to the point to even consider how to slalom water ski, since all of my focus was on just not making a faceplant into that high speed H20!
And I guess water skiing has kind of taken a place on the shelf for those summer holiday weekends for more “family fun” options like wake boarding, tubing, and jets kiing. But if you’ve ever seen someone who surpassed the learning curve, and knows how to slalom waterski, you’ll know that water skiing is one of the most elegant and exhilarating water sports. And now with some technological advances, as seen in some “Hollywood” training videos, it might be easier – and safer!
The secret in this video I saw was this aluminum “barefoot boom” or “Ski boom” that attaches to the front of the boat by two cables, and can allow the new water skier to learn proper posture and get the feel of moving on the water (proper weight balance) at slow speeds, these can be as little as 10 mph for kids, or 20 mph for adults.
This pole concept helps guard against the initial rope jerk that comes with an acceleration of speed, and allows the skier to lean back with the skis in front. Then the new skier can drag the rope behind them in order to figure out how it feels to be holding on to something that wonat even support you. In no time, youall be up on skis behind the boat and learning how to slalom.
The water ski boom is the perfect training tool for just about anybody, and if you have someone competent driving the boat who doesn’t take off too fast, you can practically learn this on your own. Good posture is very important, and a trainer can help you learn that, but by using the boom, I could easily build up enough confidence to learn how to do this.
What I do know is that you are supposed to keep your shoulders back with your weight on your hops. Then arch your back and allow your ankles to slide out in front of you as the boat picks up speed. Bear down on your ankles at this point and you will begin to feel lighter than air. With celebrities like Rachel Ray showing how much fun skiing is, it just might make a real comeback!
