The Tourist Attractions That Shape England’s History
Throughout England and Britain there are many attractions that are rich in historical wonder and that make Britain one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Many of these attractions are located in the capital city of London, but there are plenty outside London as well, in fact, pretty much every county or city in England has a rich and full history, complete with landmarks.
One of the most famous stone monuments in history is located in Wiltshire and has been the subject of much speculation over many years. There is still no solid evidence of why it was built or when, but historians believe that it once served as a burial ground and is around 5500 years old.
The overall creation of this monument is thought to have been spread over a long period of time (between 1500 and 6500 years!) and the stones themselves are thought to have travelled a long way before reaching their destination in Wiltshire.
There have been attempts at modern reconstructions of carrying the stones across the length that they were supposed to have travelled, but all have failed as they have been required to cross rivers and gorges among other things, which would be pretty tricky when carrying stones that weigh several tons.
Another part of England’s history is the famous tale of Robin Hood. In the city of Nottingham where his deeds are said to have taken place, you can visit his statue near the castle in the city centre and visit Sherwood forest, his supposed hideout. It hasn’t been proven whether the tales of Robin Hood are based on fact, or are entirely fictional, but there are certainly many historical references to him in various pieces of literacy, some dating back as far as the 13th century.
Of course, a place that holds a highly notable place in the countries history is Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of possibly the greatest playwright of all time. It is not only home to the house that William Shakespeare was born in, but it is a beautifully quaint town with a picturesque feel to it, outside Henley street that is. Henley street is the street on which Shakespeare’s old house is located, and it is one of the most visited places in the country.

No Brisbane Trip Is Complete Without A Visit To Moreton Bay
There are many little islands, along the bay of Moreton, set between the mainland and North Stradbroke Island. since these islands are in close vicinity to city, of Brisbane, many resident travel to the city daily.
Coochie Mudlo Island has red cliffs and beautiful sandy beaches. With its village feel and calm waters it is a perfect swimming and boating area for the family. The most interesting island, historically, is St Helena Island. Once the hunting ground of local tribes, the island took its name from a parallel drawn with the exile of Napoleon Bonaparte to St Helena in the South Atlantic “in 1828 an Aborigine named as Napoleon was dumped here after he became too troublesome for the jail at Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island.
St. Helena was turned into a penal colony, forty years later, when the mainland prison became overcrowded. The Reforests were cleared for lumber and to prevent escapes, gardens were planted, and houses were built. Prisoners were taught trades and paid for the work they did. In 1933 the last of the inmates left. During it’s 65 year run only 3 prisoners had escaped. Today, you can tour the Island and visit the Deputy Superintendents home, as well as the stone houses that once belonged to the prisoners. These homes have been turned into museums filled with photographs from the prison era.

Learn the Rich History of the Paradise Called Palm Springs
Palm Springs has a rich, diverse and fascinating history. It began 10,000 years ago in the Stone Age, when the area was inhabited by an ancient tribe using bows and arrows and weaving baskets. The area began to flourish when the first American explorers made their way to the Coachella Valley in 1853. The area went from one watering hole to an international vacation paradise!
In 1853, William Blake, a geologist, while exploring, discovered a mineral pool under the desert sand. His team established a wagon route through the local mountain pass. It later became a part of the Bradshaw Stage Coach Line. Years later, the Southern Pacific Railroad built a railroad line allowing for more expansion. During this time, the Indians were given every even parcel of land, which stands today and is the reason why many areas in Palm Springs are either empty or are now leased land from the Indian Tribes. That mineral spring in the heart of the desert helped Palm Springs get its name.
As people heard about the area, the first hotel in 1886 was built. The Palm Springs Hotel (aptly named) held a measly 26 guests, but it began the trend that Palm Springs has developed into a multi-billion dollar industry. In the early 1900’s, the town grew to support the construction of the town’s first post office, school and a larger hotel, the El Mirador that held a whopping 300 guests! In 1936, the town had grown enough to initiate the formation of a committee to incorporate into a city. A city was born with the help of its first mayor, Philip Boyd, a capable businessman and committee member who helped the city get on its financial feet. The city continued to grow, flourishing as a vacation spot until World War II. During the war, the El Mirador Hotel was turned into a hospital for the military and an airport was built to accommodate the planes of injured soldiers arriving and returning to service.
In the early forties, the area incorporated into a city and elected its first local government, making it official. The desert rest stop had become a city full of promise. During World War II, the U.S. government asked for the city to do its part. General George Patton brought troops into the area, taking over the El Mirador hotel and turning it into an army hospital. This influx of troops coming in and out of Palm Springs brought the construction of the Palm Springs Airport to accommodate the takeoff and landing of a vital military force. The airport still stands today and has grown into taking on international flights from around the world, bringing even more vacationers from all across the globe. As the war ended, the sixties and seventies brought the best of Hollywood’s stars, who turned the town into their vacation playground. The eighties showed a huge influx of retirees who found the warm dry climate appealing.

One of the biggest industries in the world is the music industry. Speaking to the MCs in your area before starting a new Club
Why speak to the MCs in your area before starting a new MC?
I want to address a question I have gotten a lot recently. (I am sure it has a lot to do with the hit show Sons of Anarchy) It is from people who want to start new Motorcycle Clubs. They want to know if they should go to the predominate MCs in their area to talk about starting a new MC first. Many have said to me they do not understand the reason why they should go talk to them! Some have even gone as far as to say that if they have to go to the predominate MC in their area and ask permission that just proves that MC is a Criminal Gang! Not sure how they came to that conclusion but they are some very strong words sent over the computer.
I want everyone to remember I am writing this info as a guideline to those who are looking to get into the MC world and individual results may vary. This maybe some new fad to you but to true Motorcycle Club Members this world is everything!
For my answer to this Question I am going to put aside any statements of having to ask permission of the MCs in your area. I am going to instead ask why would you not speak to the MCs in your area and get their Blessing first before starting a new Motorcycle Club. Many say its because they are going to start a different type of Motorcycle Club. They may even be calling themselves something different like a Riding Club or a Motorcycle Association. Are your Members going to ride Motorcycles and have Club patches on their vests? If the answer is yes, Then again why not go speak to those who have come before you and paved the roads you now wish to ride down!
For many I know the reason they don’t want to ask is simple fear! Fear of what they do not know or what they think they do know. If it is fear, then it is because you do not know the real Motorcycle Club world! Now every Motorcycle Club in the world is different. But most Motorcycle Clubs don’t mind helping to get a new MC started and teach them what it really means to be in a Motorcycle Club, I can guarantee you it is something you will not learn on TV no matter how many episodes you may watch!
Now if you have decided that what you really want is to start up a new Motorcycle Club, One thing I want to make sure you know is something every Father should have taught his Son as a Child and that is “Do not lie and Always do what you say you are going to do” One fact I will also give you is the MC world is all about Respect! If you just start up a new MC without talking to the other clubs in your area that will most likely be seen as disrespectful!
Lets think about some other reasons you would want to talk to the MCs in your area first. You are going to want to make sure your new Patch or MC name is not similar to another Motorcycle Club. Many MCs have worked hard over the years to create a name and image for themselves. They will not like the idea of you either using a name close to theirs or wearing a patch that looks like theirs. The reason being is a simple one, They do not want you being mistaken for them doing anything that would make them look bad. You also could be seen as trying to ride on their coat tails by using the reputation they have worked hard for. You may not understand it now but the MC world is a Brotherhood and if you are fortunate enough to be welcomed into it, You will understand after years of working hard creating a name for your MC. The bottom line is meeting with the MCs in your area and talking with them before starting a new MC is the right thing to do!
Another fear many have is they wrongly believe they will be forced to do things for these other MC’s. The only thing most Clubs may ask of you is to come to a few of their events each year have fun and again to show Respect!!!
Now I have heard complaints from many that there are areas where the MCs have decided they do not want any more new MCs! Well all I can do is guess why that might be! The reason I would think that Motorcycle Clubs would say no more Clubs in an area is that there are already a lot of different MCs in that area and they all get along real well. These MCs would not want anything new coming in and messing up the harmony they have created.
Now like I said before the reason most say they want to start a new MC is because they want to start something different then what is in that area. Well often that is not the truth. The real reason People often want to start a new MC is because they do not want to have to Prospect! If the only reason you want to start a new MC is because you are not willing to prospect, My best advice to you is to stay an independent rider because you will not last long in the Motorcycle Club world anyway!
