The resort is also home to Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and a Dolphin Habitat.
One of downtown Las Vegas’ most popular attractions at night is Fredmont Street. The street has a 90 foot high canopy to protect from the sun during the day, and is open only to pedestrian traffic. Known as the Freemont Street Experience, the free display includes entertainers and street musicians, and a light show on the canopy every night, which is it’s biggest draw.

An Englishman In South San Francisco
As it would be expected of an accomplished Englishman, I managed to live abroad. That is to say, I have lived in the United States and embodied the cliche of the Englishman in not-so sunny California. Rather than cater to too broad of a cliche, I subscribed myself to the fog-prone coasts of Northern California. Granted, this was not as radical a break from convention and expectations as I had thought, but nonetheless, I was spared a horrid sunburn for the five years I lived and worked in and around San Francisco.
A turbulent flight delivered me to SFO airport, where I somehow managed to have myself conveyed to an area I would come to find out was called South San Francisco — not to be confused with the City by the Bay itself (and I do apologize for acquiescing to the use of pseudonyms). I sought shelter in many of the South San Francisco hotels, but finally settled on the one that would actually accept pounds Sterling as payment.
The peninsula seemed like a nothing more than a jolly old jaunt — at least from the naive perspective of a burgeoning ex-patriot with no sense of scale. Those of you who are familiar with the Bay Area, of course, know it is impossible to see the entire area in a day, much less by bus or metro. Nonetheless, I had to find out the hard way, as they say. The hard way began with a metro ride (known as the Bay Area Rapid Transit, or BART) to the center of the city, Union Square.
The year was 2000, or there about, and Union Square was in full, capitalistic bloom. It had been cordoned off for a year or so in the late Nineties to accommodate a massive gentrification project. Apparently, I would come to find out from ex-hippie who bore witness to the literal ups and downs of the city, that the square had fallen on hard times. Like it’s Eastern cousin, Union Square had suffered a debased, pornographic existence for almost two decades. And, like Times Square, it had been identified as having tremendous marketing potential.
As I emerged from the fluorescent tunnels of the BART system, I was immediately struck by how concentrated a retailers haven Union Square had become. I believe the first storefront I happened to gawk at was the Apple Store, which occupied two stories of prime real estate. At every turn I was reminded — mind you, I had just arrived from London — by how incredibly similar this fable city was to my hometown. This, I thought, was a rather anti-climactic realization. Little did I know I would have my fair share of denouements to come.
It is my sincere hope that you may partake of the kindness of South San Francisco hotels in person, and with enough time to appreciate the entire region.

Top Five Beach Destinations for Spring Break
Spring Break is a time when college students let loose and vacation in any one of the many destinations known for its great beaches. Considering the economy, some of the more expensive islands may be out of financial reach.
Even with that said there are five amazing beaches that college students can make reservations for now and look forward to several days of sun and sand.
* Ft. Lauderdale has long been one of the most popular destinations for Spring Break. Throughout the past few years Florida has undergone some changes however Ft. Lauderdale still tops the list for affordable Spring Break destinations.
* Acapulco has become as popular as ever with college students. Now there are more Spring Break packages to Acapulco than ever before.
* One of the perennial favorites, Bermuda, has become somewhat more expensive over the past few years and therefore has been taken off our list. Happily Aruba has become a fantastic alternative destination offering beautiful beaches, friendly people, and unbelievable weather. An additional bonus is that all Aruba hotels are located on the beach, unlike Bermuda.
* Another consideration is the Bahamas as it offers affordable accommodations and fabulous beaches.
* Finally, for an all-inclusive package to either “nowhere” or from Florida to the Bahamas, cruises have become highly touted as the best possible vacation venue for most college students.
If you plan to travel to Mexico you want to take safety into consideration. Crime has risen dramatically in several popular resort cities such as Cancun and the US strongly advises traveling there. Fortunately for its fans, Acapulco is the exception.
Panama City Beach, FL is one final destination for you to consider. It has become a booming destination for Spring Breakers in the past few years. Comprised of beautiful beaches, plentiful parties, and hopping clubs many college students will want to consider Panama City Beach as a final “resort.”

How to Prepare for Last Minute Travel to Europe
Organizing your trip can be a nightmare; you want to make sure you have everything packed, know where you travel documents are, and an itinerary in mind for once you arrive. It is a great idea to do some preliminary research prior to your trip so you can be assured of finding the best tickets at the best prices, especially if you are planning on traveling to Europe as it can be expensive. Doing your work ahead of time can help you find the best deals on hotels because Europe is so beautiful that you will want to spend many days in each city just to enjoy it.
If you decide to travel to Europe at the last minute you might lose out on some of the ?book ahead? deals that you might otherwise have found. Other problems can arise when you go spur of the moment. Poor planning can create late arrivals which can mess with anything you had previously booked. It is also likely that you will forget to pack your essential items which can ruin a holiday. Panic and distress can ruin a holiday before it has even begun.
If there is a chance that you might, one day, wake up one morning and decide to leave that night for Europe I have a few ideas that I want you to keep in mind to help guarantee a great holiday.
- Writing lists can literally save your holiday. Even if you have an ongoing list stored away in your brain I recommend that you actually put it all out on paper. I recommend that you plan ahead for that unexpected trip and write down what you would want to take with you if you were to suddenly head to Europe. I even suggest that you list the basics such as your passport and toiletries as these are items which are typically forgotten. Finally, put your list in a safe place where you can access it immediately if the need arises.
- Talk with others who have been there before as they can be an invaluable resource for what you may need. Prepare lists of potential inexpensive hotels and find out if there are any items particularly necessary for European travel (i.e. power converters). By talking things through with others you are creating useful resources for when you do find yourself heading to Europe.
- Do your research on the world?s largest library, the internet, and subscribe to travel updates from discount airlines and hotels. Find out what deals are available from the various hotels in the cities you might be visiting as well as larger chains. By learning these things early on you are learning about what hotels are available, what types of discounts they offer and possibly what attractions are nearby so that when you do travel you will be familiar with where to go and what to do.
- Be aware of what your memberships offer in terms of European travel. Some credit cards have discount packages that allow you to get ticket discounts, while some insurance companies or even your car insurance and sales company will have discounts for travel. You may be able to get yourself some great discounts if you know where to look, and if you already have these discounts under your belt!
- Do your research either through the internet or travel magazines and read up on what are the best destinations in Europe. Familiarize yourself with some of the history as well! Prior research will definitely get you a long way to having the holiday of a lifetime!

The Tourist Attractions That Shape England’s History
Throughout England and Britain there are many attractions that are rich in historical wonder and that make Britain one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Many of these attractions are located in the capital city of London, but there are plenty outside London as well, in fact, pretty much every county or city in England has a rich and full history, complete with landmarks.
One of the most famous stone monuments in history is located in Wiltshire and has been the subject of much speculation over many years. There is still no solid evidence of why it was built or when, but historians believe that it once served as a burial ground and is around 5500 years old.
The overall creation of this monument is thought to have been spread over a long period of time (between 1500 and 6500 years!) and the stones themselves are thought to have travelled a long way before reaching their destination in Wiltshire.
There have been attempts at modern reconstructions of carrying the stones across the length that they were supposed to have travelled, but all have failed as they have been required to cross rivers and gorges among other things, which would be pretty tricky when carrying stones that weigh several tons.
Another part of England’s history is the famous tale of Robin Hood. In the city of Nottingham where his deeds are said to have taken place, you can visit his statue near the castle in the city centre and visit Sherwood forest, his supposed hideout. It hasn’t been proven whether the tales of Robin Hood are based on fact, or are entirely fictional, but there are certainly many historical references to him in various pieces of literacy, some dating back as far as the 13th century.
Of course, a place that holds a highly notable place in the countries history is Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of possibly the greatest playwright of all time. It is not only home to the house that William Shakespeare was born in, but it is a beautifully quaint town with a picturesque feel to it, outside Henley street that is. Henley street is the street on which Shakespeare’s old house is located, and it is one of the most visited places in the country.
Accomodation is a key component in any great trip. If you don’t have a top quality hotel, it can bring the rest of the trip down. The good news is that England is home to a range of the world’s finest hotels so no matter where abouts you plan to visit, the chances are you won’t be far from some world class accomodation.

Fine dining tonight in the award winning restaurant, or something from the bar menu? No, tonight it has to be fine dining with good wine – why not be looked after? You deserve it.
After dinner you relax in your room and contemplate what to do the next day. A good breakfast for sure, and then off to see some of the beautiful scenery. Maybe a trip to the Cotswolds water park which is just a stones throw away – it’s a must see Cotswolds tourist attraction, and then maybe a trip to one of the lovely little towns, like Chipping Cambden.
